MySafeSchool
The whistleblower system MySafeSchool has been activated for the PCHS community. MySafeSchool is a confidential and anonymous system that makes it easy for all stakeholders to report issues such harassment, theft, substance abuse, unsafe conditions, and more. For more information or to make a report, visit www.MySafeSchool.com or call the hotline at (800) 465-1645.

The Village Nation
The Village Nation (TVN) is a high-profile group on campus created to celebrate, support and promote the self esteem and academic success of Pali’s African American students. Currently, The Village Nation has a peer mentoring program in which successful upper classmen are paired with 9th and 10th graders who are struggling academically. TVN also has an assembly every year in which students review and discuss CST data.

Fuerza Unida
Established in 2009, Fuerza Unida or “United Strength” is a social, cultural, academic, and community support program for PCHS Latino students and families. Using The Village Nation model, a team of elders made up of teachers, counselors, an administrator, and a parent organizes impact assemblies, parent meetings, and Latino Student Union (LSU) activities that educate, organize, and connect Latino students and families to resources and support. By strengthening the relationship with Latino parents and building a network of Latino families, Fuerza Unida builds the capacity of students to succeed in school and progress to college.

Gay Straight Alliance
Gay Straight Alliance meets weekly to provide a safe and supportive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth and their straight allies. LGBTA works to promote a campus free of anti-LGBT harassment. Currently there are approximately 35 student members of GSA, and the organization has sponsored several events on campus, including Ally Week, National Coming Out Day, Harvey Milk Day, and Day of Silence – all intended to raise awareness and create a campus free of anti-LGBT language and harassment.

California Scholarship Federation

The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) was founded in 1921 as an organization to foster the motivation, recognition, and education of academically talented students. CSF membership is by semester, and eligibility is based on a student's grades the previous semester. CSF requires ten "points" for eligibility: A's count as 3, B's as 1, and C's or better in up to two Honors or AP classes count for an extra point. Points must be from a maximum of five classes excluding PE and Service. Membership in four of the last six semesters of high school qualifies students to be recognized as Sealbearers at graduation and also makes them eligible for CSF scholarships. Ms. Gilbert took CSF applications every semester for five decades! This year, Mr. Mittelbach is taking applications. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors who qualify should come to J122 at lunch and bring a copy of their Pali transcript, printable from Infinite Campus, and $3. Mr. Mittelbach will be in his room at lunch Monday-Thursday through the month of October (except Halloween)! Also, students who were not able to sign up in the spring for last fall semester may join retroactively for another $3.
