Make up tryout for Boys Polo, Girls Polo, and for Swim and Dive will be held August 15th at 2 p.m.
Please be prompt and be prepared to stay until 3 or 3:30.
In order to try out, all athletes will need a completed athletic packet. All athletes need to be cleared to tryout and compete, and you can use the same packet for tryouts and the 2016-17 athletic seasons, but the physical needs to be after May 20, or it will expire during the spring season.
To try out for boys’ polo, you need to complete a swim test. It is 10 50s freestyle on :50 seconds.
To try out for boys’ swimming, you complete the above test and a legal 100 IM.
To try our for girls’ swimming you complete 10 50s free on :55 seconds and a legal 100 IM.
The girls polo tryout is the same as swimming, minus the 100 IM.
We highly recommend training for the tryout. We frequently see kids who think they are prepared who are not. If you do not have a background in competitive swimming, there is no way to make the tryout without practice.
At the tryout, you will also need to write a few paragraphs about your commitment, dedication and attitude. We are looking for athletes that are driven to these sports and are willing to make the team their top extracurricular activity.
Once you make the baseline tryout, the athletes are ranked and we take as many as we can from the ranking. There is room for about 12 freshman boys and 12 freshman girls in swim, and room for about 8 boys and 8 girls on polo.
